Background
Ronald L. Nath,M.D., F.A.C.S., president and founder of Commonwealth Surgical
Associates, was born in New York City, and educated at the Horace Mann School of
New York, Princeton University and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Following Internship and Residency at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, he was a
Research Fellow in Cardiovascular Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and
Chief Resident in Surgery at Boston University Medical Center where he did his
Fellowship in Vascular Surgery. He began his Surgical Practice in Medford in
1980.
He was a teaching Fellow in Surgery at Boston University Medical Center and has
continued his teaching as Clinical Instructor in Surgery at Tufts University
Medical Center and as Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at Boston
University Medical Center.
Board Certifications
He was certified by the American Board of Surgery in 1981, re-certified in 1991 and 1999 and 2010.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Nath's practice offers a full range of General, Vascular and Laparoscopic
surgical procedures and is focused on a compassionate and caring personal
approach to all of his patients. His expanded practice currently offers the VNUS
Closure procedure for treatment of varicose veins, a vascular lab providing
ultrasound services, and specialty wound care.
In addition to his membership in the American Medical Association and
Massachusetts Medical Society, he is an elected member of International Society
for Cardiovascular Surgery, New England Society of Vascular Surgery, Eastern
Vascular Society and Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery and is a Fellow of
the American College of Surgeons.
