Angela's Story
I
wanted to share my weight
loss story for a while but
have not been able to talk
about it because it is not
easy to talk about how you
got to the point that I did
in my life!
Weight has always been an
issue for me. I was always
the "fat" kid in school and
always struggled to keep my
weight in check. I played
sports to try yo keep fit
and watched what I ate but I
just could not keep the
weight off. I had a child at
young age and never lost the
weight after my pregnancy.
As things changed in my life
so did my weight. I was
always an emotional eater
and food always made
me feel better. Which, in
turn, was not good for my
waist line and as things got
worse in my life my weight
went up. Food was always may
savior and my enemy all at
the same time. I think I
tried every diet that was
out there to help me get in
control of my weight and I
found that they would work
for some time and then I
would always gain the weight
back plus some. I had
thought about weight loss
surgey years ago and decided
that I was not ready for the
commitment at the time.
My life changed when at 33 I
was told that if I did not
take the weight off I would
not be able to walk because
of the weight on my knees!
My knees suffered serious
damage caused by playing
sports before and I was told
that if I did not take the
weight off there would be
more damage and more pain to
come. At that time I knew it
was time for me to do
something. I was young and
had a young child to take
care off. I did my best to
change my diet and was able
to loose 50 lbs on my own
but the doctor told me it
was not enough! That is when
I started my search for a
surgeon to help me with what
I could not do on my own.
When I first called Dr.
Sandor's office I could not
believe how comfortable
Kathy made me feel about
what I was going to embark
on. She got me an
appointment and told me
about the upcoming meeting
to meet Dr. Sandor. I have
never felt more comfortable
that I did at that meeting
than I did any other I had
been to. I met with Dr.
Sandor the following week
and he was an amazing person
who changed my life! I am
now 9 months out of the
surgery that changed my life
for the better. I still have
some to go but I am happier
and healthier than I have
ever been. I can not believe
how one group of people
including the staff at the
hospital can change your
life!
I have now lost enough that
I can put off knee surgery
for a few years and can live
a life that I never thought
I could. Thank You Dr.
Sandor!!
