Laparoscopic Weight Loss Surgery Information Seminars


Once a month a surgical orientation seminar is held for patients who would like to learn more about weight loss surgery. Admission to these meetings is free of charge and everyone is welcome to attend. However, attendance is mandatory if you would like to proceed with an office consultation.


This is the first step of your journey to a healthier future!


During these meetings Dr. Sandor reviews the etiology of the obesity epidemic, the mechanisms of various weight loss therapies and the rational for surgical intervention in appropriately selected individuals. Realities versus expectations regarding adjustable gastric banding (the LapBand® procedure, Realize®  band), the Roux-Y gastric bypass and sleeve gastrectomy will be discussed.


Potential candidates for surgery will have a unique opportunity to understand the preparation for surgery, perioperative management and postoperative care. They can prepare realistic plans for the time of surgery and for life after surgery.

On site registration to the comprehensive surgical weight management program of Commonwealth Surgical Associates is available. There is absolutely no pressure to proceed with surgery for anyone who attends this meeting.

You are welcome to attend the meeting regardless of your association with any healthcare system or your insurance status.
